Job Title: Product Development Lab Technician
Reporting to: Director of Controls Architecture
Position Location: Phoenix, AZ

Qualifications:
The candidate should have 5+ years of proficiency in common assembly technician skills including but not limited to mechanical assembly, electrical component assembly, equipment operation, soldering, welding, following, and improving upon verbal and written assembly work instructions. The candidate should be proficient at other lab support activities such as R&D equipment procurement and cost management.

Successful candidates will also:

  • Leverage their electronic and mechanical assembly skills in a diverse and fast paced prototype environment in support of the companyโ€™s Product and R&D goals.
  • Take verbal and written work instructions for tasks from a variety of stakeholders and know when to ask for clarification. Instinctually identify opportunities for improvement and communicate ideas clearly to your peers.
  • Perform occasional lab maintenance, monitor ongoing tests, execute lab tests, and execute the procurement processes for lab supplies and equipment in support of general lab activities and health.
  • Be able to lift 50 lbs. and operate common lab equipment such as a bridge crane and power tools. Forklift experience and / or certification is a plus.

Responsibilities & Skills

  • This role will work out of Kinematicsโ€™ Phoenix based Validation Lab (PKVL) under the direction of the Director of Controls Architecture and lab director, under verbal and written instructions.
  • This role will be responsible for carrying out electronic prototype and testing assembly work, including soldering and other assembly techniques.
  • This role will be responsible for carrying out mechanical prototype and testing assembly work, including mechanical assembly and possibly welding.
  • This role will be responsible for procuring lab materials under the direction of the lab director and lab engineers per the companyโ€™s procurement process.

Education & Experience

  • 5+ years of demonstrated excellence in mechanical and electrical assembly.
